Long Description The Foster Grandparent Program provides eligible persons, 55 years and older, with a modest stipend for volunteering with young children who have special needs (birth to 18, disabled to 21 years of age).
Tasks Volunteers will be working in a classroom setting with children who need a little extra help with their studies. The FGP Volunteer will work one-on-one or in small groups with the children to whom he/she is assigned. FGP Volunteers will "work" 20 - 40 hours per week, depending on availability of a site and hours that the volunteer wants to work.

Terms and Conditions Must pass physical (paid for by FGP.) Must be able to obtain FBI fingerprint clearance, PA State Criminal Clearance and PA Child Abuse Clearance (also paid for by FGP) Must be at or below 200% of poverty level for income. Must be at least 55 years of age. Must posess basic literacy skills.
